Scope of Works
Turnkey underground mining services for the Karari Underground Gold Mine, including:
- The establishment of four portals; Main Decline, Exploration Decline, Switch back 5 and Whirling Dervish, with in excess of 14,000m of total development
- Conventional and tele-remote loading of over 1,300,000 tonnes of ore
- Haulage of all capital development, level development and stope ore and waste to surface ROM and waste stockpiles
- All vertical development works comprising some 3,000m of raise drilling and boxhole slots
- All underground construction and civils including vent walls, concrete collar and civil foundations
Project Highlights
- One Lost Time Injury (LTI) recorded for the Karari Underground Gold Mine
- Averaging over 300m per month of fully supported development with a single Sandvik DD421-60 jumbo, over eight consecutive months, peak performance of 357m in a single month
- RUC Mining was the first Mining Contractor to install and implement whole of mine, whole of fleet real time tracking system for improved safety and productivity
- Ramped up production from 59,183 tonnes of ore in February 2017 to 111,515 tonnes in May 2017 an increase of 188% in three months
