Tanami Production Haulage Shaft

At the core of the Tanami Expansion 2 (TE2) is a production shaft, required to economically exploit the resource below the current operational business plan. TE2 will increase annual production, improve the operating margin of the current and future resources and more efficiently access ounces at depth.

RUC commenced on site in 2018 with works including;

  • August 2018: Assist raise drill de-rigging and set up for crane sinking.

  • November 2018: Crane sink stopped at 43.4m.

  • December 2018: Headframe sinking equipment mobilised and commissioned.

  • December 2018 to October 2019: Shaft sunk through the Meergat Fault to 212.2m.

  • October 2019 to November 2019: Shaft backfilled by low strength CRF to 15.0m below collar.

  • November 2019: Install top-hat and riser pipe. Dismantle headframe. Assist setting up raise drill.

  • December 2019: Demobilise sinking equipment from site.

Nick Maguire

Manager Mechanised Mining and Raise Boring

Since 1996, Nick’s career to date has predominantly involved underground metalliferous mining.
His experience gained during this time has been from the ground up, having spent years working underground at the ‘coal face’ through to statutory and senior management positions on site and at corporate head offices. This has given Nick an in depth knowledge of all aspects associated with underground mining.

Tracey Chan

Finance Controller and Company Secretary

Tracey is a CPA qualified Accountant with 16 years’ experience working in various industries, including telecommunications, engineering and construction, professional services and the property sector. She started her career in Perth with Gascoine Group and VDM Engineering and Construction, before moving to London to work for City of London Telecom. Tracey joined RUC in 2014 and manages the day-to-day finance function, supporting internal and external business stakeholders, Project Managers and The Board of Directors.
