The Mount Morgans Gold Mine is a gold mine located 37 km west-southwest of Laverton, Western Australia. The Mount Morgans Gold Mine is owned and operated by Dacian Gold Limited, who acquired the project in 2012.
Scope of Works
Providing all underground mining services including:
- The establishment of two new portals, Beresford and its Ventilation Portal at the Mount Morgans Gold Mine
- The rehabilitation of Mount Morgans Gold Mine: stripping of two existing portals, Westralia Decline and Allanson Portal
- Ongoing capital and ore drive development of nearly 40,000 metres
- Peak advance of over 1,500m per month
- Over 400,000 production drill metres to be drilled using new Atlas Simba S7 Production Drills
- Conventional and tele-remote loading of approximately 2,500,000 stope tonnes
- Haulage of all capital and production materials to surface ROM and waste stockpiles
- Vertical development works at Mount Morgans Gold Mine, comprising of some 5,500 metres of raise drilling and slot raises
- All dewatering of old underground workings
- Construction and civils works including ventilation walls and, concrete collar and civil foundations
Project Highlights
- Fully wifi capable with multi loader operation from the surface
- No Lost Time Injury (LTI) recorded for the project to date
- 1,837 metres developed in 5 months, 328 metres ahead of schedule
- Purpose built box hole rig, designed and built to suit the Mount Morgan to suit 4m x 4m headings
