Costerfield Gold Mine

The Costerfield Gold Mine is located in Victoria, Australia, within the Costerfield mining district, approximately 10 km northeast of the town of Heathcote, Victoria. Purchased in 2009, Mandalay Resources immediately restarted capital development and mining. By 2013, through extensive improvements and investments in mining and processing methods, the processing plant’s capacity was expanded to approximately 13,000 tonnes per month from 5,000. Scope of Works

Providing underground development mining services including:

  • The Costerfield Gold Mine’s horizontal development works of some 1200m at 4.5mW X 5.5mH, 1:23Up
  • Incline and decline development of approximately 2500m of up to  5.5mW X 5.5mH, 1:7
  • Level access, stockpile development and vent access approximately 1300m at 5mW X 4.8mH, 1:50Up
  • Haulage of all capital development materials to surface waste stockpiles utilizing a CAT AD45

 

Project Highlights
  • The Costerfield Gold Mine has Zero Lost Time Injury
  • RUC mining’s first mechanized mining venture to the Eastern States of Australia
  • Averaging 188m per month of fully supported development in a single heading with a Sandvik DD421-60 Jumbo, over 10 consecutive months, peak performance of 217m in a single month with 4 man crews

Since 1996, Nick’s career to date has predominantly involved underground metalliferous mining.
His experience gained during this time has been from the ground up, having spent years working underground at the ‘coal face’ through to statutory and senior management positions on site and at corporate head offices. This has given Nick an in depth knowledge of all aspects associated with underground mining.

Tracey is a CPA qualified Accountant with 16 years’ experience working in various industries, including telecommunications, engineering and construction, professional services and the property sector. She started her career in Perth with Gascoine Group and VDM Engineering and Construction, before moving to London to work for City of London Telecom. Tracey joined RUC in 2014 and manages the day-to-day finance function, supporting internal and external business stakeholders, Project Managers and The Board of Directors.
