Raise Boring Equipment
RUC Cementation Mining Contractors specialise in the supply and operation of Raise Borers to the mining industry. A Raise Borer is a machine used for drilling a circular shaft between two levels of a mine, or in the situation of a blind bore, where a shaft is required as an expansion slot (terminating in sold rock).
Raise Borers can be used in various modes of operation, the most common of these include;
- Conventional pilot drilling,
- Conventional Raise Boring of vertical and inclined holes,
- Down boring with a pre-drilled pilot hole,
- Blind up boring (Box Hole Boring), and
- Directional piloting and raise drilling used in conjunction with a shaft boring machine (V-Mole), for the boring of a large diameter shaft.
By utilizing this method of shaft development, RUC Cementation Mining Contractors is able to provide a number of additional benefits to your project, including;
- Smooth Walls - a stronger shape with no blasting, allowing for less or no ground support.
- Flexible range of sizes - starting from 0.66m and expanding to 6m in diameter
- Flexible shaft lengths - allowing short lengths of 10m to longer lengths in excess of 1000m
- Safety - the Raise Boring process ensures that no personel need to enter the hole, there is no blasting or fumes, and can be used in conjunction with remote shotcreting.
- Only requires 2 personel per shift - making it the cheapest form of vertical raising.
Raise Boring is the cheapest form of vertical raising, providing the fastest form of shaft development, while ensuring that no personel need to enter the hole.
